Well I was getting 0 readings on both hot ends (only using numver 1) and the bed for ambient. Turned it on today and they read about right. Tried to run a test print but it hung up during the bed level check and looked like it was having trouble maintaining the extruder temperature. So I stopped the print but the extruder temp got stuck when cooling. It did actually seem hot.Turned off and restarted, all temps showing 0 ambient. Removed and refitted the hot end thermistor. Turned back on, all ambient temperatures OK. Tried a pre heat to 200. According to the screen it got stuck around 196.

Anyone? My first thought was a power issue but the 0 reading at room temperature makes my think it's some sort of control issue. Is it possible that there is a glitch in the firmware or is does the fact that it looks like a progressive failure point to a component going down, possibly on the control board? When you set it to print all the target temperatures come up on the screen OK but nothing heats up.

I have been having a problem that appears similar to this but I'm beginning to think its somthing different. My printer had been working well but since i had a print that failed and caked the hotend in plastic i have had a series of issue's. The current one is that I am having trouble getting my bed to heat up and when I start a print there is good chance it will stop at some random point. There seems to be no consistent factor that affects wheather the bed will start. I double checked the wiring yesterday when the bed was not heating and it seemed sound, but no heat. A little later I tried again and it worked so i gave all the wires another wiggle and it made absolutely no difference and it's still working now. I am wondering if there is a fault in the bed and that is causing the print failures. As far as I can remember I dont generally get an error message when a print fails midway. I did update the touch screen firmware but it has not make any difference.

Just got round to looking at this and i'm slightly confused (easily done!) but I can see the Marlin firmware on here but not the Touch screen firmware?

Thanks Dataris, that's very interesting. I have lowered the head by 0.05mm and so far so good, so hopefully that has cured the adhesion problem. I'll tweek the Cura settings as you suggest so at least that should have some resemblance to reality. That will only leave the dual print servo! Chris

@deró Thanks, i had already ordered a Surom from amazon, it's a bit of a punt but it's now installed and working, so far! Someone else suggested Meanwell so i might get one as a backup. Adjusted the z by 0.05mm as well to see if that hits the spot for the adhesion probblem. Thanks for the help.

Thanks dero. I disconnected everything apart from the switch and it tripped again so I have ordered a replacement. When it's back up and running I'll have another go at the z axis adjustment to sort the bed adhesion problem. I also need to get back on to Makertech about the switching servo. It would be good if they could come up with a recommended alternative.

Was there any resolution/progress with this? I'm having a problem with mine I'm still doing DSE stage 7/8 and was trying to sort out the offset but could not get the servo to move off of position 2. I have now discovered that if i manually force (!) the arm to position 1 it will them move to 3 or 2 but not back, ie it will only move anti-clockwise. Anyone any ideas?
